PRODUCT DESCRIPTION AND FEATURES

The spectacular Nolla silver earpieces are adorned with colorful leafy components made of a new type of bioplastic. The 3D-printed translucent bioplastic provided by Brightplus is a Finnish innovation. It’s made entirely from renewable organic ingredients such as hemp, sugarcane and fava bean. The colors, too, are derived from nature: blue from woad, black from soot and green from metal oxide. The silver parts are made of 100% recycled silver. The bioplastic component is attached to the earpiece with a tiny surgical steel screw. The earpieces are mirror images of each other, marked L (left) and R (right) on the reverse side. Made in limited edition, the Nolla earpieces are only available in our webshop and Kalevala stores in Helsinki. Also available in black and green.

JEWELRY STORY

The Nolla jewelry series introduces renewable, innovative biomaterials to Kalevala Jewelry. Nolla jewelry is made from 100% recycled silver and a plant-based biomaterial developed in Finland. The colors of the biomaterial also come from nature: black from soot, blue from woad, and green from metal oxide. Designed by Taru Harmaala Chaloff, the jewelry series was inspired by Finland's endangered flowers, the Meadow Rue in particular. The Finnish name of the jewelry series "Nolla" means "Zero" in English.

Care instructions for silver jewelry

Kalevala silver jewelry is handcrafted in Finland from sterling silver. More than 99% of the silver we use is recycled.

Over time, all silver jewelry darkens. Darkening can be prevented by regular cleaning and proper storage of the jewelry. Dark spots can be removed with a Kalevala cleaning cloth. After cleaning, it is a good idea to wash the jewelry in mild soapy water so that the cleaning agent does not stain the clothes. The cleaning cloth is not suitable for cleaning stones set in silver jewelry.

It is good to keep the jewelry in its original packaging. Additional protection for jewelry without
against the darkening effect of impurities is provided by a tight plastic bag.
