Two iconic Finnish design houses, Kalevala Koru and Marimekko, have come together to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Maija Isola’s Unikko design, first introduced in 1964. The Kalevala x Marimekko collaboration collection is carefully handcrafted from fully recycled silver at Kalevala Jewelry’s factory in Helsinki.

Finnish lifestyle design house Marimekko and Finnish jewelry company Kalevala Koru make quality design a part of everyday life through their products. The latest example of this being the limited-edition collaboration collection between the two brands where Marimekko’s art of printmaking has been applied to timeless Kalevala jewelry. During the 60th anniversary year of Marimekko’s Unikko pattern, the brand has explored different approaches to this timeless design icon. In Kalevala’s Helsinki factory, the Unikko pattern comes to life in a brand-new way through Finnish craftmanship in jewelry.

Care instructions for silver jewelry
Kalevala silver jewelry is handcrafted in Finland from sterling silver. More than 99% of the silver we use is recycled.
Over time, all silver jewelry darkens. Darkening can be prevented by regular cleaning and proper storage of the jewelry. Dark spots can be removed with a Kalevala cleaning cloth. After cleaning, it is a good idea to wash the jewelry in mild soapy water so that the cleaning agent does not stain the clothes. The cleaning cloth is not suitable for cleaning stones set in silver jewelry.
It is good to keep the jewelry in its original packaging. Additional protection for jewelry without
against the darkening effect of impurities is provided by a tight plastic bag.
