In 1969 Neil Armstrong became the first man to walk on the moon. The excitement and jubilation that followed led Björn Weckström to create his Space Silver collection which was launched in the same year. The impressive Galactic Wind earrings belonging to the collection are now available again.

JEWELRY STORY

The Planetoid Valleys necklace and the Darina’s bracelet are the most iconic pieces in the Space Silver collection. The necklace and the bracelet became internationally known in the 1970s after being worn by Princess Leia in the first Star Wars movie.

Care instructions for silver jewelry

Kalevala silver jewelry is handcrafted in Finland from sterling silver. More than 99% of the silver we use is recycled.

Over time, all silver jewelry darkens. Darkening can be prevented by regular cleaning and proper storage of the jewelry. Dark spots can be removed with a Kalevala cleaning cloth. After cleaning, it is a good idea to wash the jewelry in mild soapy water so that the cleaning agent does not stain the clothes. The cleaning cloth is not suitable for cleaning stones set in silver jewelry.

It is good to keep the jewelry in its original packaging. Additional protection for jewelry without
against the darkening effect of impurities is provided by a tight plastic bag.
